I came to Jonathan Miller from JonCar realty on the recommendation of a friend. What i showed him was my elderly mother's home (she had recently moved in with us), which had not had any major updates since 1972.

With his suggestions and advice, i was able to create a sellable home, in which i felt the sale price retained the dignity of my parents dream home.

Even when the sale got caught in some family chaos, we stayed in contact, him explaining to me (a realty novice) how things work, what do, all the while reminding me that although he was trying to sell a home, he was aware of the emotional connection we had to our parents home, and would not to do it an injustice.

…So, with this “fish encounter” my curiosity about the worth of my house in the City of Beacon mounted. In the meantime, my husband’s long commute to his new job was becoming quite the burden…so; needless to say, we decided to sell our house to move closer to his job.

We had spoken to two other realtors and their suggested asking price for our house was not meeting our needs for us to move forward; but more importantly over the past twenty years we had lovingly renovated and restored many areas of our home and paid much attention to detail. When my husband I decided to purchase a house in “Year 2000”, somewhere in Beacon, Fishkill or Wappinger Falls, it was like a rollercoaster for us with different realtors. We had lost interest, everyone was about making money. But, then we met John Miller from Joncar Realty and immediately we felt a sense of care, he LISTENED and he was GENUINE. My God, he was also patient with us because he knew we weren’t looking for just any house, but a big Victorian house. He didn’t waste our time by showing us just any house or forced to buy something we didn’t want. I would call him almost everyday and not once did he show lack of interest. He worked with us very hard for about 9 months and finally it he called me and told me to drop everything we are doing he found “THE HOUSE”. When we got to the house the tenants didn’t want to show us the house, but John begged them to let us in. We walked in and of course there was no doubt about it I knew I this was my final stop. We made an offer and my husband was so stubborn I felt as if we were going to loose that opportunity and then John and I excluded my husband and went ahead and finalized everything until we finally did the closing. He took us to lunch. Most importantly, my husband was happy. When he would tell people he picked this house John and I would just laugh historically because we knew the deal. He is like family ever since.
